Buy Big This Summer or I’m Off – Eden Hazard Warns Chelsea

Eden Hazard has delivered a shock ultimatum to Chelsea “buy big this summer or I’m off”.

Hazard, 27, is holding out on signing a new £300,000-a-week contract to see what happens during the transfer window.

The Belgian star has two years left on his current deal but Real Madrid are waiting in the wings.

He warned: “I’m taking my time. I’m waiting for new players next season. We will see.

“It is something big, so I will need to think of a lot of things.

Blues boss Antonio Conte shattered Chelsea’s transfer record last summer when he brought in £65million striker Alvaro Morata — one of eight major buys in a £250m spree during the last year.Even so, Conte admits he has been a “disaster” in the transfer market and Chelsea have fallen way behind rivals Manchester City in terms of purchasing power.

That scenario has worried ambitious Hazard, who is at the peak of his powers and wants the Stamford Bridge outfit to match his own goals.

He will not be able to play Champions League football with Chelsea next season after a fifth-placed finish saw the club drop into the Europa League.
