The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has shunned the Nigerian senate’s invitation.
The Senate had summoned Idris over the arrest and detention of Senator Dino Melaye and the killings across Nigeria.
The IGP was to appear in the chamber to address the lawmakers in plenary on Thursday (today).
The Police boss however decided to accompanied President Muhammadu Buhari on a state visit to Bauchi State.
Meanwhile, has rescheduled to next week Wednesday its earlier invitation to the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris to address it at plenary on the manhandling of Senator Dino Melaye and killings across Nigeria.
