Rapper Fredo Santana Found Dead At 27
Chicago rapper Derrick Coleman, who is popularly known as Fredo Santana, has been reported dead by his producer and fellow rapper Maxo Kream .
He died on Friday night after suffering a seizure, according to reports. Family members reportedly told TMZ that Santana’s girlfriend, with whom he has an eight-month-old son, visited his Los Angeles home on Friday at 11.30pm and found him dead on the floor. Maxo Kream posted a picture of Santana on Instagram and the caption: “Damn man I’m lost for words right now I’m cryin my ass off Fredo I love yu B***h RIP a real Savage.”
Santana is best known for his appearance in the video for Drake’s “Hold On, We’re Going Home”, in which he played a man who kidnaps Drake’s onscreen girlfriend. Drake paid tribute to Santana shortly after Kream broke the news, sharing a picture of the two together with the caption: “Rest in Peace Santana”.
Fredo experience liver and kidney failure in October 2017 and vowed to go to rehab at the time. He later admitted that the kidney failure was caused by using anti-anxiety medication Xanax and lean, a mixture of cough syrup, lemonade and candy which is prevalent in the hip-hop industry and can cause seizures.
