Thibaut Courtois says it would be ‘fantastic’ if Chelsea star Eden Hazard was to join him at Real Madrid.
The Belgian stopper, 26, finally put his turbulent summer to bed by completing his £38million switch to the Bernabeu.
Chelsea brought in world-record buy Kepa Arrizabalaga in a £73.1m deal, while Mateo Kovacic also joined on loan as part of the Courtois merry-go-round.
But just as Blues fans were starting to consider this summer’s transfer window to be a raging success, they may have been dealt a bitter, deadline day blow.
After passing his medical and penning a six-year deal at Los Blancos, Courtois revealed he had already enjoyed a chat with close pal Hazard.
Speaking of his Belgium team-mate, Courtois said: “He is happy that I have arrived because he knew it was my dream.
“He is a great player and if he could come here one day it would be fantastic.”
With the Spanish transfer window not closing until August 31, there’s plenty of time for Hazard to be swayed by Courtois’ words too.
Earlier this summer, the superstar forward even claimed it might be time for pastures new.
Last month, Hazard revealed: “After six wonderful years at Chelsea it might be time to discover something different. You know my preferred destination.”
