Sending a text to the wrong person can be a disaster, but something amazing happened to one lady who snapped a picture of herself in a changing room.
Instead of it reaching her friend’s inbox, the image was accidentally forwarded to an unsuspecting dad-of-six in Tennessee in the US.
Many people would write back pointing out she had the wrong number, but real estate agent Tony Wood decided to have some fun with it, and even involved his kids.
He wrote: “I believe this message was intended for someone else.
“My wife isn’t home, so I couldn’t get her opinion, but the kids and I think you look stunning in your dress! You should definitely go with that one!”
Her tweet has since been liked over 690,000 times and has over 172,000 retweets, but the heartwarming story doesn’t end there.
Twitter users touched by the story have discovered the family are currently caring for their son Kaizler, four, who at the time of the photo was in hospital undergoing chemotherapy to treat his leukaemia.
It has emerged the family has a GoFundMe page that was set up over two years ago to help pay for the little boy’s treatment.
Many people were so moved by the accidental text encounter that they have rushed to the page to leave a donation to help the family.
Tony told Bored Panda: “Since this all started we’ve had over $3,000 ($3,800) donated.
“That’s more than we had donated in total over the last two years. It’s been amazing and is a bigger blessing than anyone could ever know. We were backed up to a financial wall.
“I’ve been working the entire time, but I was slowly but surely succumbing to the financial rigours of the situation.”
Tony’s wife Rachel revealed she is overwhelmed by the outpouring of support.
She said: “It is so refreshing to be reminded that there are good people in the world who still care about others and are quick to be generous and kind to others.
“I would also like to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for all the kind words, all the prayers, all the donations, all the love and support.”
Many people added their comments to the GoFundMe page and said they were happy to help. One donator wrote: “I think the internet is going to make sure you guys can focus on what matters! Hope he recovers quickly and fully!”
Another added: “I just read about this incredible story on the news and reckon the world needs more of it! Keep smiling guys, this has made my day. ;)”
